Peperomia prostrata, commonly known as String of Turtles, is a small plant with round, succulent leaves.

The leaves have a beautiful pattern that look like a turtle shell.

It's quite a small plant so is great for a desktop or in terrariums.

It also looks great in a hanging basket - it will form a thick mat and cascade over the sides.

It is quite slow growing and won't take over any neighbouring plants.

It likes moist soil but can be sensitive to overwatering. I find that it's best watered from the base of the plant. Bright, indirect light will help to keep it happy.

It does like to be quite pot bound so be careful not to over pot - always only go up one pot size when potting up. Potting up is best done in spring. It can be fertilised in the warmer months with a half strength dose of liquid plant food.

It is a stunning plant to have in your collection - especially when it matures!
