English Ivy is a fast growing, evergreen climber or trailer with lush green and white foliage.
It's an excellent air purifier and is on NASA's top 10 list of best air purifying plants in the world. What a claim to fame!
Native to light woodland areas, English Ivy thrives in an environment of bright filtered to low light. It can be grown outdoors in a shady area or indoors in an area where it won't receive full sun.
If grown indoors, don't keep Hedera too close to a heater or air conditioning unit otherwise the foliage will dry out very quickly and turn brown.
English Ivy prefers an evenly moist environment. During the growing season water the plant thoroughly and keep the soil moist. When its winter growing slows down or stops, reduce watering and you can allow the top soil to become slightly dry between each watering.
Winter growth of English Ivy plants tends to be very long without bearing many leaves. Trim areas like this with lots of woody growth but few leaves. For the plant to fill out properly during growth, cut the stems down to strong growth areas.
