English Ivy is a fast growing, evergreen climber or trailer with lush green and white foliage.

It's an excellent air purifier and is on NASA's top 10 list of best air purifying plants in the world. What a claim to fame!

POSITION
Native to light woodland areas, English Ivy houseplants thrive in an environment of bright filtered to low light. Ample light helps the leaves become more colourful but filter the light to prevent excessive heat which can lead to drying and poor performance.

Like almost all other indoor plants, Hedera will hate being too close to a heater or catching the draught of an air con.

WATER
English Ivy prefers an evenly moist environment. During the growing season water the plant thoroughly and keep the soil moist. When it's winter growing slows down or stops, reduce watering and you can allow the top soil to become slightly dry between each watering. Spraying English Ivy with soft water weekly will help prevent spider mites from infesting the plants.

PRUNING
Winter growth of English Ivy plants tends to be very long without bearing many leaves. Trim areas like this with lots of woody growth but few leaves. For the plant to fill out properly during growth cut the stems down to strong growth areas.

Pictured here in a 14cm pot, it will be posted potted.
